InfoChannel was formed in Jamaica in 1995 and is the first commercial Internet Services Provider (ISP) to be established in the Caribbean. Our mission is to profitably provide to local and international clients reliable, quality services that facilitate the distribution of information and knowledge by utilizing telecommunications and information processing technologies.

Since 1995, while retaining our position as a leading ISP, we have expanded our operations to include a range of international and local data services. International traffic is carried by our licensed earth station (VSAT) facility, which is now able to handle 6-7 times more traffic than 2 years ago.

We include a wide cross section of Jamaican businesses among our corporate clients as well as a large percentage of residential Internet subscribers.

Major products that have been enthusiastically taken up by Jamaicans include:

The popular 56 Kbps dial-up Marathon range of products offering unlimited monthly usage, SprintPak 40 for those who use the internet sparingly and NetKyaad, a new and increasingly popular product for those who want prepaid access and have varying usage demand.

InfoChannel has been at the forefront of the battle for the deregulation of the telecommunications industry in Jamaica, the final phase of which took place in March 2003. In preparing to take advantage of a fully liberalized environment, the company entered into an agreement with Net2Phone to resell their brand of IP Phone technology including the Yap Jack Plus and Max Units. These products offer the lowest international calling rates giving the user tremendous dollar savings.
